The Reaper In The Woods

An Old Tale Of The Danger Deep In The Woods - Told By An Older Woman
Amidst the peace of nature's reign,
Through rustling leaves and stream's refrain,
I'll tell you, dear, not all's serene,
In woods where evil lurks unseen.
A reaper stalks the brave and strong,
Its presence shrouded all along.
The signs, obscured, remain unknown,
A danger in that realm's dark tone.
I hope you'd never tread those woods,
Where evil lurks seeking food.
Let me teach you the signs, my child,
That dread alone may save your soul.
If ever in its grips you’re found,
These warnings may make your fate unbound.
As you roam amid the trees,
Amidst the rustle and the breeze,
The stream that flows, the birds that sing,
Beware, my child, the signs they bring.
If in that wood, though birdsongs chime,
No feathered friend seen at this time,
That absence marks a deadly game,
The reaper's call, for you all.
If the maw you fail to see,
That gaping hole, a dreadful sight,
Abandon all, let out a wail,
Run, for your fear's what will avail.
The reaper craves for flesh and bone,
It savors screams as fleeing souls bemoan.
Run swift, escape this cursed domain,
From woods to safety, tell the bane.
Spread the tale of its grim spree,
Warn others, to keep their spirits free.
